Japan through IFS

I had the pleasure and the honour of being, one among others, awarded the International internship from the 21st Century COE of Flow Dynamics, IFS-Tohoku University. Throughout the two months period of my stay at the IFS, many great impressions have been attached to my memory: The quality of scientific research at the IFS, the great organising skills from the staff at the 21st Century COE of Flow Dynamics and the charm of Japanese culture through Sendai city.

I was impressed by the high quality research conducted at the IFS-Tohoku University. The advanced technical instruments and the flexibility of the research teams is a distinguished factor. I believe that the current technical and managerial skills at the IFS place it among the best in the field of Thermo-Fluid systems worldwide. Another distinguished feature of Tohoku University is the multicultural group of researchers from around the world. It is a great chance to meet scientist from all over the world that could build a worldwide network of scientific communication.

I would like to say thank you very much to the staff at the 21st Century COE of Flow Dynamics for their great effort in managing the internship program. The facilities provided by the host researchers are outstanding. The financial support is another phase of the Japanese culture generosity. The cooperation of the staff is far beyond any expectations

Sendai is a well organized, calm and peaceful city. It has the advance life style of big cities on one hand and the simplicity of the country life on the other. It is a city where you do not feel as a stranger. It is a city full of an outstanding people able of showing you a live example of accommodating different people from different back grounds. It is a place where you always want to revisit and see the great Japanese culture.
