Nov. 2014 Russian President Vladimir Putin visited ICE Lab. (International Combustion and Energy Lab.) in Far Eastern Federal University, Vladivostok, Russia and talked on lab research activity with Prof. Kaoru Maruta who is a head of the ICE Laboratory. ICE lab is an international collaboration laboratory lead by Prof. Sergey Minaev as a Russian-side leader, and founded in 2014 under the support of the Russian Megagrant Project. Energy dynamics laboratory conducts research and development on energy conversion processes in combustion and reactive thermal fluid systems aiming for new concept technologies.

By taking heat and/or mass regenerations as keywords, inter- and transdisciplinary researches through industrial and academic collaborations with domestic and international partners are conducted.

Our current research interests are micro-, mild and microgravity combustions, catalytic reaction control, CO2 sequestration and process optimization, and nonlinear dynamics in reactive systems.
