thermal engineering conference

Hello there! I am master 2nd year student Hou.

In this Nov.17th-Nov.18th, I attended the 2012 thermal engineering conference.
This year the conference was held in Kumamoto University, which is a quite long trip from Sendai. Also it was the first time for me to attend a formal conference, Dr.Okajima taught me a lot. Anyway I traveled to Fukuoka by plane and met Prof.Maruyama at the airport luckily.

About my presentation, there was some part of it I failed to explain clearly and I had been unable to answer some of the question from audience. However I found there was a reasearcher who has been working on a similar project like me, we got detailed communication and I was quite happy to have the chance to exchange information. Then in the yearly meeting, Prof.Maruyama was awarded the "Outstanding research achievement" and even I felt a great honor to be a member of Maruyama. Lab.. The next day we went to Aso mountain and the Kumamoto castle for sightseeing. Unfortunately because of the volcano gas we were unable to see the volcano mouth, but the great scene we met healed our tired heart.

Although at first I refused to attend the conference, now I feel it really deserve what I have been working on. For those who did not ever attend a conference in Japan, I strongly recommend you to have a try!
