餃子パーティ

Our dumpling (gyoza) party was held at Professor Maruyama's home where there were enough space and kitchen utensils for cooking. We prepared Chinese dumpling under the guidance of Professor Guo (a Chinese visiting professor).
Chinese dumpling generally consists of minced meat and chopped vegetables wrapped into a piece of dough. Popular meat fillings include ground pork, ground beef, ground chicken, shrimp, and even fish.
The important stage is how make dough. Professor Guo was professional at this part. Chopping the vegetables such as leek and lettuce was the next step. Our laboratory students were very adept at their works especially Takeda-San seemed very expert in chopping the vegetables. After that we prepared two kinds of dumpling with ground meat and shrimp. Dumplings are usually boiled. We also tried the fried dumplings. They were very delicious (oishiiiiiii).
It was a good memory for all laboratory members to prepare a traditional food and to drink and eat together. We would like to thank Professor Maruyama for his invitation and Professor Guo for his guidance.
