Boeing Factory Mural Sets Guinness World Record

Starting from 2012, Tohoku University participates in Boeing Higher Education Program that The Boeing Company presents worldwide and receives Grant from The Boeing Company to bring up excellent scientists and engineers who should carry the world future.

The Boeing Company and Tohoku University agreed to educate young, excellent scientists and engineers as many as possible. This program began with Tohoku University Global COE Program “World center of Education and Research for Trans-Disciplinary Flow Dynamics” as a point of contact at the university side.

To manage this program, Boeing Higher Education Program Committee has been organized by faculty members of Institute of Fluid Science, Next-Generation Transport Aircraft Research Center at School of Engineering, and Division of Mechanical Engineering at School of Engineering. Professor Shigeru Obayashi of Institute of Fluid Science is the head of this Committee, also acting as Major Technical Contact and the instructor for the various student programs.

The following three student projects have been started from November 2012 mainly with the master course students in School of Engineering.
