Tsinghua-Princeton 2016 Summer School on Combustion

From July 19th to July 25th the Tsinghua-Princeton-CI 1016 Summer School on Combustion was held at Tsinghua University in Beijing China.
This year master 1st year students Yuta Sasaki, Ryota Tatsumi, Yuki Murakami, Shintaro Takahashi and PhD 2nd year Philipp Grajetzki attended the lectures on combustion physic by Prof. C.K. Law, combustion chemistry by Prof. H. Wang and mechanism reduction by Prof. T. Lu. The lectures contained the fundamentals of each field but also went into depth and contained the lecturer’s experiences and opinions which will be of great help in our future research.
After the summer school ended we were invited by Prof. Chen from Peking University, a former short term student at the Institute of Fluid Science, to visit his laboratory where we got an introduction about their research on combustion. Some of his students also showed us around Beijing, including the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace and the Olympic Stadium.
Overall this was a great experience for all participants, both academically and personally.
