Plastic Bottle Rocket Event in Science Campus

みなさん、こんにちは。小宮です。

青葉山の山口健先生からお声がけをいただき、9月26日（土）の午後に青葉山のサイエンスキャンパスにてペットボトルロケット教室を開催しました。
当日は雨の予報でしたが、今回お手伝いをしてくれた伊藤匠君の普段の行いがよかった（本人談）ので、雨の降らない中での開催となりました。
今回の参加者数は30名。会場の関係から参加者数が決まっており、申し込みは50名程だったそうで、厳選された30名が参加しました。
遠くは栃木県から来られた参加者もおりました。サイエンスキャンパスの中村先生、日下先生、河内様のご協力もあってスケジュール通りの進行ができ、ペットボトルロケット制作後はみんなで青葉山グラウンドに移動し、3.5気圧の条件で発射体験をしました。
発射会場が広かったので、久々の高圧条件。今回の優勝者は飛距離が100mを超えていました。

Here is a report from Komiya - it's been a while.

At the invitation of Prof T. Yamaguchi from the School of Engineering, we held a plastic bottle rocket event at the Science Campus on September 26.
Although the weather forecast called for rain on the day of the event, thanks to Takumi’s good deeds, the event took place without a drop of rain! (This is the Takumi's "own" opinion.)
There were 30 participants at this event. I heard there were 50 applicants, but due to the capacity of the venue, 30 people were selected and attended.
Some of participants came from Tochigi Prefecture. Thanks to the cooperation of Prof. Nakamura, Prof. Kusaka, and Ms. Kawauchi from Science Campus, the event proceeded according to schedule.
After making their plastic bottle rockets, all participants moved to the Aoba-yama ground to experience launching them under 3.5atm pressure conditions.
Since the ground was so spacious, the participants were able to experience launching at high pressure condition. I think it was a wonderful memory for all the participants.
