The SAMUKAWA Laboratory at National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) satellite was established in 2015 in order to facilitate collaborative research topics between NCTU and Tohoku University. Currently the joint research is focused on the development of advanced materials and devices based on the neutral-beam (NB) technology for Nano-devices. The NB etching and oxidation techniques developed by Prof. Seiji Samukawa allow precise profile control in atomic level with nearly damage-free surfaces. Therefore, the NB technology plays a key role for the realization of sub-nanometer devices to enable versatile applications for humanity. This international joint group strives to conduct novel and advanced research to breakthrough bottlenecks in electronics, energy, lighting, communications, etc., and aims to become pioneers who lead the development of technology for the next century.
