of the researchers who can plan and promote an international joint
project.

Implementation of International Mutual Internship
Program(compulsory) |
The student who participates in this program is required to take the internship program in overseas research institute for two to six months as a compulsory course. Travel expenses and local expenses will be paid maximum 1 million yen per one dispatched student. The internship student will take part in the local research project. Furthermore, the internship student from overseas research organization will be invited to our COE in order to be engaged in our project.

Intensive course by top educators from the United States and Europe(compulsory) |
We invite professors who are expertise in educational performance from leading
universities of the United States and Europe to give an intensive course. Training
of presentation and debating in English will be also conducted.

Double Degree System |
"
International COE of Flow Dynamics" will set
up and enhance Double Degree System with three research institutes that
have mutual Liaison Office
actually operated by Institute of Fluid Science.
Double Degree System allows selected students
to get degree of both Universities
home and
visited. We support travel expenses and local
expenses for the successful candidates. We select
three students both from Tohoku University and
from overseas institutes every year. However,
fiscal 2003 is a year of preparation for the
system to put into operation.

Assistance for international symposium organized by students and commending system |
We encourage hosting symposiums organized by
students of Tohoku University and overseas institutes,
and aids its expenses in collaboration with Asia
Pacific Branch of Shock Wave Research Society
and academic liaison offices. Excellent research
presentation will be commended by "International
COE of Flow Dynamics"
