By air:

There are two direct flight services (one-hour flight) per day between Narita International Airport and Sendai International Airport. Airline company is ANA (All Nippon Airways)[Timetable]. It takes just about one hour from Sendai Airport to JR Sendai Station by Airport Limousine Bus and to JR Matsushima-Kaigan Station by local bus.

By rail:

1. First take East Japan Railway (JR) Narita Express from Narita Airport terminal 1 or 2 Station to Tokyo Station. It takes just around an hour.
2. Then transfer to Tohoku Shinkansen (Bullet Train) at Tokyo Station. There are four types: Hayate and Komachi (combined for Sendai, all seats reserved, fastest), Yamabiko, MAX-Yamabiko (two-storied, slowest). Do not use Tsubasa, Nasuno, MAX-Nasuno, Toki, MAX-Toki, Tanigawa, MAX-Tanigawa or Asama, which do not take you to Sendai. Hayate and Komachi take just 100 minutes to get to Sendai (only two stops). If you go directly to Matsushima, transfer to local train (Senseki Line) at Sendai, and it takes around half an hour to reach Matsushima-Kaigan.
