Flow dynamics is a comprehensive academic field closely related to various issues that society faces, including issues related to energy, the global environment, and life science. In addition to expanding and enhancing the successes from our 21st Century COE Program, International COE for Flow Dynamics, our Global COE strives to establish an internationally renowned education and research center for flow dynamics.

Using flow dynamics as the core, our Global COE aims to establish basic academic principles in trans-disciplinary flow dynamics by incorporating information science, chemical engineering, and bio-medical engineering as well as conducting international collaborations through our global network and amalgamating different types of knowledge through cross-cultural fusion. Moreover, through our efforts as part of the International Collaborative Frontier Research Project, we will use our education and research center to create a comprehensive academic field, which encompasses innovative science and technological fields.

Moreover, we will elevate our international network into a multi-stage international network in order to recruit outstanding talent from Japan and around world through such programs as the International "Takenoko" (bamboo shoot) Student Promotion Program. Educational programs like the International leading researcher hatchery program and research activities such as those through the International Joint Laboratories and Frontier Project will produce flow dynamics experts, who will have an academic ability that exceeds international standards and will be the core of the global community in the near future. Additionally, the global perspective and international awareness will enable our graduates to continuously produce innovative achievements.
