Year-End Greeting
I would like to first offer my deepest apologies to all of you for having to manage the lab and carry out research activities under an extremely harsh environment. The fault lies entirely with me. But thanks to your cooperation and hard work, we were able to sustain research activities in this lab. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
This past year, I have reflected deeply and explored how to improve lab management and research activities as I listened to your views. There are areas where more growth is needed because they are still works in progress. I am even more determined, with your help, to move our lab in the right direction this coming year.
I believe that the ideal values of an organization that is the research lab are "seeking the happiness of the members who gather here" and "recognizing diversity and independence." Going forward, I want to work hard to guide this lab with all my strength so I can sincerely face each one of you and grow our future together. I humbly ask for your cooperation.
Nobody can do anything by himself or herself. I myself feel this keenly, and I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. I want to create a lab environment where members help each other, encourage each other, and mutually advance one another's research activities. I want to work harder this coming year so that your time spent in the lab will be even happier. I would appreciate your continued partnership and support. Thank you for a year of hard work. I look forward to our next year together.
Sincerely,
Seiji Samukawa
