Professor Samukawa gives keynote lecture on spintronics at Tohoku University/KTH joint workshop
Traveling to Stockholm, Sweden, Professor Samukawa gave the invited lecture at a workshop jointly sponsored by Tohoku University and the Royal Institute of Technology (Kungliga Tekniska h?gskolan: KTH) from November 12 to 15. He talked about spin control technology using quantum dots and MRAM device etching technology. KTH's spintronics researchers have shown great interest in Professor Samukawa's work, and have discussed participating in two joint research projects. These projects will be important for broadening the research activities of Samukawa Lab and strengthening ties between Tohoku University and KTH. KTH is expected to play an important role in Europe as a research hub. Sweden has been unusually warm this year, and its polar ice was melting in the fall. Professor Samukawa could experience the effects of such warming.
