Farewell party held for Dr. Cedric, Mr. Fujii, and Ms. Abe
A farewell party was held over lunch and dinner on February 29 for special Assistant Professor Cedric, Mr. Fujii, and Ms. Abe.
Over the last four years, Dr. Cedric energetically carried out research on etching of compound semiconductors as part of the CREST project, and contributed greatly to the research findings. Mr. Fujii produced major results during the two years he spent in the lab as part of his professional PhD program. In April, he will return to his company and continue his PhD program. Ms. Abe shouldered responsibility as secretary to the director of the center. She completed her term of office.
Thanks to everyone's cooperation and hard work, the Samukawa Lab made great advances in research and educational activities. Professor Samukawa is grateful and wishes future growth for everyone. This time of the year is sad, but parting is also necessary for everyone's mutual development. It would be wonderful if these farewells lead to the broadening of networking going forward. Below are Professor Samukawa's farewell remarks.
== Farewell remarks ==
Look at everyone around you.
You see acquaintances, friends, co-workers, superiors, and teachers.
There are a variety of people.
Other people are also born into this world thanks to wonderful miracles.
It is wonderful that we can encounter and talk to one another.
We are wonderful, and so are our partners.
If people recognize the wonderfulness that they are born with, good human relationships can be built.
While there are areas that we may not like about our partners, these points are amusing too.
Let's think about bad points as "that's only because we're human" and not think too deeply about them.
Look for good points and connect with people.
Let's respect each other's good points and encourage each other.
An encounter between two persons is an encounter between two miracles.
