Professor Samukawa and Assistant Professor Higo took part in WPI One Day Symposium held at E-MRS(May 3-5, 2016)
At the 2016 European Materials Research Society (E-MRS) Spring Meeting in Lille, France, from May 2 to 5, researchers from Tohoku University, Kyoto University, Kyushu University, and four WPI centers related to nano materials at the National Institute for Materials Science gathered for a one-day symposium to call attention to WPI achievements in Japan and exchange information within WPI. Representing Tohoku University's Advanced Institute of Materials Research (AIMR), Professors Samukawa, Orimo, and Higo presented research results.
It was a very fruitful meeting in which a Russian researcher requested a short-term stay out of interest in Professor Samukawa's presentation on quantum dots. Further progress in talks of joint research with INSA Lyon regarding solar cells was also made.
In addition, we were able to deepen exchanges with Professor Fukuyama's group (Miyazaki University), who requested collaboration with Samukawa Lab. Both groups were attending E-MRS. This provided a significant opportunity to broaden Samukawa Labfs activities to the international sphere and further stimulate research activities.
