Farewell party held for Assistant Professor Higo (March 9, 2017)

Assistant Professor Higo of Tohoku University's Advanced Institute for Materials Research and Samukawa Laboratory will be moving to the University of Tokyo from April 1, so we held a farewell party for him on March 9.

Reflecting his character, a large number of people, including those from Tohoku University, the Fluid Science Laboratory, AIMR, the Graduate School of Engineering, and Tokyo Electron gathered. We thanked Assistant Professor Higo for his 5 years of contribution (13 coauthored original papers and 40 coauthored international presentations), and pledged to continue developing while maintaining and strengthening collaboration in the future.

This is a great loss for Tohoku University and Samukawa Laboratory, but the development of a new network through Assistant Professor Higo's transfer is very important for our future. We send him off praying for success in his future endeavors, while hoping we can continue working together with strong ties. This is Dr. Samukawa's wish for happiness by the gathering in the laboratory. (Aren't the smiles of the participants impressive?)
