The research activities of Visiting Professor Samuel L. Manzello (Energy Dynamics Laboratory), focusing on fires in the Wildland–Urban Interface (WUI)—areas where forests and urban environments meet—were cited in a report published by the EU Joint Research Centre (JRC) in November 2025. His work and its international impact were subsequently featured on Tohoku University’s website.
