ELyT School 2024 in Lyon

ELyT School has been held annually since 2009, alternating between Sendai and Lyon. ELyT School 2024 in Lyon was held from September 1 to September 10, 2024, at the campuses of INSA Lyon and Ecole Centrale de Lyon in France. 20 students from Tohoku University (10 undergraduate and 10 graduate students) participated in the 10-day program with 17 students from INSA Lyon and Ecole Centrale de Lyon. 

The curriculum of ELyT School 2024 included lectures by French and Japanese professors on various fields with a focus on sustainability, visits to design districts based on the concept of sustainable society, laboratory tours of INSA Lyon and Ecole Centrale de Lyon, and student projects in which Japanese and French students collaborated on research and presentations. 

In addition to academic programs, many hands-on lectures on French culture were held, including wine and cheese tasting, an excursion to the Beaujolais district, a mini tour through the old city of Lyon, and French lessons for beginners. 

ELyT School 2024 was supported by JSPS Core-to-Core Program “Establishment of an International Research Center for Ammonia Combustion and Material Research Aimed at Realization of a Low-carbon Society”, JASSO Overseas Study Support Program, and JSPS Strasbourg Office.
