Professor Atsuki Komiya and his research group (Heat Transfer Control Laboratory) has received the “Best Paper Award” at the 34th International Symposium on Transport Phenomena (ISTP-34).
This award is given to papers that have been submitted for oral presentation at ISTP-34 through a proper peer review process. In total, 267 applications were received, of which 5 were awarded. This awarded paper focuses on bio heat transfer in breast cancer treatment and mentions the possibility of intra-vital temperature control, even for immuno-therapy. This award recognizes this effectiveness.
The ISTP series are an annual international conference hosted by the Pacific Center of Thermal-Fluids Engineering (PCTFE). It is a world-class conference for researchers working on transport phenomena.
Awarded paper:
Akiyoshi Obonai, Takuma Kogawa, Yuki Kanda, Tetsuya Kodama and Atsuki Komiya
